I don't drive my truck all that much these days and the majority of the fuel is old and even though it's had fresh fuel added, I'd like to drain it all and add fresh fuel to a nearly empty tank. Not going to throw away the old fuel if it still looks good.....will put some of it in my Varsol vat.
Bulk head connector isn't the greatest and I keep losing connection for the brake lights, all the parking lights along with the head lights, horn and tach. All the stuff that doesn't go through the key loses connection. I know when things aren't working with my tach freezes in place or doesn't...
Reason I axed is because I found 32 brand new factory style (but aftermarket) chrome lug nuts that are 1/2x20 and have had them for so long that I don't remember why they are even here anymore. Anyways my last 3/4 ton from way back was a 79 but also had a 79 1 ton with chrome spoke 'wagon'...
Or is there a site that I can 'learnt' from? Would like to slam in some 3.90 gears or even 4.30's in my beater 95 Dakota V6 since I can't find a V8 truck. Wouldn't mind doing the 96 too since it acts like it's even slower. Is it correct that these are pretty much a wham bam thank you mam gear...
I've tried regular grease and that doesn't work all that great. Figure they need silicone grease or something like that? S ick of the bushings not lasting very long in my 95 but my 96 sound like they are half shot. Is there a better bushing than that universal package from the auto parts store...
Not my first rodeo with these but someone must have hammered it tight and by the way the nut looks, they air chiseled it on. I'm getting pretty close to using heat on it but man, hate doing that in the shop and it's raining outside. I moved the hood prop rod to the far edge of the hood to get a...
I've used deep cycle batteries in gas pickups before with good results but it's been years. I might drive my 97 Dodge diesel once a week but there's been times it has sat for 2+ weeks and am wondering if a deep cycle battery would be better to use. The ones in the truck now are 10 and 7 years...
Batteries have been disconnected for the duration but that's it. Anything in particular that might need to be done to start this thing back up? Fuel in it was fresh at the time and the truck has been garage kept.
50 per pair shipped to all 50 states or 30 shipped for 1 lens. Made in USA. I have a few foam type gaskets but not sure if they are usable or not. Still have 4 left sides and 2 right sides left.....
I generally drive for good mileage and know how. Coasting for a light going yellow that's 3 miles down the road (JK JK) and no jack rabbit starts and the like. Keeping a steady foot on the gas is always good etc etc etc. But what can be done to the truck? Truck in question is a 96 Dakota reg cab...
My 95 averages 16 and thought that sucked but my first check on my new to me 96....wait for it.....12.7! It has similar pep as my 95, same 3.55's gears and even the tire sizes are the same. It runs good, idles smooth and well, I dunno. Was going to check for codes by doing the key flip but looks...
This thing is pretty nice and the AC will freeze you out. Looks like it may have been garage kept for most of it's existence. Not a V8 :( but the 6 runs pretty good....and have already got rid if the 6" wheels and installed a set of late model 8 inchers with 235-75-15 that came on another...
Got a new BJ (oh that don't sound good) in the box but from 30 years ago and the boot has deteriorated to the point that I threw it away. USA made. Seems the stuff on the net is cheap and I hate to throw it away. It's a lower BJ....anyone need it? Is it worth it to anyone? It's probably worth...
23 years old and well, the driver's side bushing took a hike and it doesn't look too easy to do. I've had to replace the motor bushing twice over the years so it's fairly new. Haven't been able to find a youtube vid on doing this one and do not have a repair book....well, have a Haynes but it...
Can a simple single pole toggle switch be installed in place of the original OD switch? And I'm thinking there are more than 3 wires going to the original so I'm not sure how to wire in a toggle switch if possible. Been a long since replacing the 1st one and it seems they are no longer available.
