96 Dakota V6 2wd auto would be the 42re trans?

Gonna do a fluid change and not sure what one it is but thinking the 44re would be behind the v8?

ATF 4 should not hurt it.

Oh I know it won't. +4 been in my 97 Diesel for years. Just wasn't sure if the V6 used the 42.

A lot of the filter kits come with both gaskets, the filter is the same.

42 and 44 take the same pan gasket (looks like old 904). 46 and up take the other one (like a 727)
