Stop on in for a cup of coffee!

I got bumped from my pre work coffee run! Laura worked until I left, and told me there was no way I'd make it in time. Good thing I had been doing things around the house and watching the granddaughters, I had a little energy left in the tank.

But no fuel in the bowls, as I didn't fill them after the carb was cleaned. Only took two tries and the car was purring. I was late anyway, but I didn't care.

Like a meathead...I forgot to take a picture of the door with the window I made....but it is about 5" square and lines up with the Display on the drive in the middle of the box.

What's the contraption it powers?
It is at an Extrusion Factory that produces crumbs for the food industry. Basically, a continuous "rope" of extruded dough is stretched along a 5m conveyor, then dropped into a hopper that can be seen behind the cabinet. The dough is then chopped into small bite size pieces by a rotary cutting blade that is driven by this fancy box of tricks you see. The dough pellets are then blown through a flexible duct into a layered set of bread conveyors in a humidity controlled drying room....then blown through again to a milling machine. Then end product can be different shapes and sizes of crumb according to the customer requirements. This is apparently the only facility in NZ making crumbs for the industry from scratch. A few other places make crumbs using re-constituted bread....which is untraceable as far as history and QC is handled by a guy in a suit picking out bad bits....very unreliable.

Not that it is that fancy, but I built up that box with a supplied drive and parts bought by me. The first time I have used a SEW Drive controller...and my verdict is that they are crap compared to the ABB version. More options for controls without headaches from ABB. Voltage in is only 3 phase 400V and earth...so I had to source a 2-phase to 24VDC power supply to start with....all industry controls that I deal with are 24VDC. Normally I would have a Neutral, so a 230VAC/24VDC PSU would suffice. :)

I was on a coffee fueled mission today, pulled the engine out of the Exploder, replaced the camshaft timing chains, the tensioner for the primary timing chain and the tensioner for the balance shaft chain. It's a SOHC 4.0 so I knew I would need to do them sooner or later. When I pulled the timing cover I was greeted with lots of broken nylon from the chain guides and tensioners.

I was amazed that it was still running good. It just started to rattle some at times so I knew it was time for chains and with the trans out not much left to pull the engine. The engine is in, the trans is back in, removed one broken exhaust bolt. I have to wait to get a guide for the balance shaft chain before I put the timing cover on and button up the engine. I had the other parts for a while and forgot about the guide for the balance shaft.

I work at a factory that extrudes cereal and other food that is then used in other products, a lot of crisps, rice, multi-grain, etc, so I'm familiar with what you do! I thought it looked similar to what we use.

Tuesday I got the balance shaft guide installed, front cover back on, radiator put in, all the fluids filled, it runs again. YEAH!!! Then I looked under and one of the trans cooler lines that I didn't like the look of was leaking.:( I got the lines this morning and put them in tonight. It's back home now:)

This is what's left of the camshaft chains and guides, balance shaft tensioner and guide and the jackshaft tensioner.

Grabbed a coffee and a couple of donuts at Dunkin Donuts....on the way to work this morning. Boston Creme and a flat white. Coffee was terrible....bland and tasteless...and way too hot....donuts were average. That's all I have for today. :woot:

Got the morning cup, only $1.00 for the large Fufu, can't beat that! Came back home and hit some alternator brackets with PB Blaster, need to charge the battery in the Monaco. Tinkering with it yesterday, and it died as soon as I backed out of the alley. Spare battery in the trunk was charged up so in it went. Grabbed the old alternator and had the parts store test it, still good! Still have to dig out some spacers, maybe even the bolt, I'll try not to damage it, but it might need a bit more force than it can stand, BFH.

I had three cups on Monday, and Laura asked me how I could drink that much. I just thought to myself, tip the cup back and swallow? Good thing I didn't say it out loud, I'd be a dead man!

Some things are just best left unsaid:D

Having tea for a change along with some fresh brownies...can't sleep if I drink coffee before bed..and I have work tomorrow (Sunday)
Been building a small theatre room at home - doubles as an office for me, a kids TV room, study for my boys, and temporary guest accommodation eventually. Lots of wiring to cram in...future-proofing the crap out of the house. Only a couple more cables to run - subs, HDMI to projector & TV, and power sockets loops....then I can install the insulation. Hoping to get ceiling dry-walled during the week.

I had to re-batten the ceiling as the original plaster board glue was a mission to remove...and the underneath of the joist were so uneven it was like an inch from side to side of the room. I don't like the steel 'Rondo' channel, so I used traditional timber battens. Started this about a year ago, then the A100 got in the way, and work got busy...now I have to get this done ASAP.

Only a few more bits of timber needed now on the edges...spotted that as I walked confidently away about an hour ago. :wtf:

I usually stop counting at three cups...they're all polluted with other stuff anyway.

I'm waiting for the weather to clear, which could happen in the next hour, or in the next day, or week, or month...
