WANTED 727/518 transmission

Looking for a 62-65 OR a 66-later OR an up to a 94 46RH 2 WD transmission. Not having any luck on FABO, FBBO. and FFMJO forums. What do you have?

hi thanks for reaching out. Actually it’ll bolt up to an early Hemi, a 58 392 to be exact with the Hemi to 727 adapter

Good luck finding one for that 392 Hemi setup, those adapters ain't cheap either but worth it for that motor!

Those 727s are getting harder to find in good shape, check local transmission shops - sometimes they got cores sitting around that might work for your Hemi build.

yes so it seems. Core or not, I’m planning on bringing it to Dynamic Converters to have them beef it up

Have your local car salvage yard put it on there search link they will find one for you

My “local” salvage year is at the other end of the county (49 miles away) and is temporarily closed and had been for weeks now. The next closest is at least another 30 miles farther and he doesn’t subscribed to any internet search at all

That 392 Hemi is gonna be sweet once you get it sorted - try posting a wanted ad on Craigslist too, sometimes old timers have stuff tucked away in their garages they'll sell.

It turned out to be a 66 Valiant/Barracuda 904

That 392 Hemi is gonna be sweet once you get it sorted.

Actually it’s a complete motor. It’s been previously rebuilt with some minor mods - all Hot Heads parts - 340 oil pump, oil filter adapter, fuel pump adapter. I do know it has hard exhaust seats and was Std/Std on rods and mains and was an Imperial Engine. The gentleman I got it from included a 300D dual quad manifold with correct 58 carbs which have been rebuilt and restored. I also have the gold oval air cleaners snnd if I want to change the look, I also have a pair of the over-the-valve cover air cleaners. I sm going to send it to a noted early Hemi rebuilder.
