Well, I believe that those are the #'s Rock Auto lists for that model. I looking for rebuildable cores at a reasonable price, that they will accept. They will go on my '65 273.

I read that they stopped making the 4.7L in 2013. I guess the 4 speed automatic transmissions let them rev higher to get horsepower. Too bad they were problematic. It would be nice to have a modern engine. Newer trucks and Jeeps have different V-6 or V-8 with fewer pieces now but those look...

Are they carbureted or fuel injection and aluminum heads?

Yes, I was considering it for a replacement engine in my '65 Dodge van. So all the wiring and sensors and an electronic control unit would also be needed? I guess that means a used but running engine that can be accessed by an electronic code reader. I have never had a vehicle with all that stuff.

I'm looking for general information on the 4.7L or 287 ci, V8, Dodge engine. According to an engine rebuilder, it is a modern V8 that tends to drop valve seats when they get too hot. What experiences have you had with this engine? Thanks, Richard.
