spline count is the same up till 1997 when they changed to 29 spline, earlier dakota axles are 5x4.5 bolt pattern which is good for changing bolt pattern
I'm going to list some information that saved my behind today, in hopes that it will help someone else
the 1991 dodge dakota v8 uses an LA 318 which is the old style non magnum engine for those who may not know
they do however run a very unique serpentine belt setup specific to the 1991...
you don't need to switch transfercase's to run dual wheels, you do however have to cover the outside wheels if you do put them on, also those cheap aluminum spacers are not the answer, buying the correct rear end for a dually is the best option and switching the gears from yours to it to match...
the fuel pump is run by the auto shutdown relay, its located on the drivers inner fender and will have a red, green, and two smaller blue wires, the green wire is power to the coil and fuel pump in the factory harness
well I have 3 dodge trucks here ranging from 1976 to 1979 and none have a two piece drive shaft
maybe 1974 was common for it but I highly doubt it. pretty sure the club cab was the only ones to see it. mine have a 318 400 and 440 engines with automatic trans and 2wd regular cab long wheelbase
