It is starting

Rained all day long. Was not bad on the open road but it made rush hour traffic a butt pain. We are home safe and sound. Sun is supposed to shine tomorrow.

Woke up late, so I didn't take the wagon to work. :arghh: it was 66 at 7 this morning. Started raining in the afternoon, and was 44 at 7 this evening. I'll drive it tomorrow on my day off, with the dogs.

It likely needs to be driven farther than to and from work.
It does, but with the time I have before it goes into storage and little fixes, it may not see many miles. It will be an almost daily driver next year, while I work on the rest of my junk.

You do know if you call it that plan on being stranded somewhere. I keep looking at all the newer pretty stuff disabled along side the road and keep thinking how blessed am I to have something that's paid for.

No, I daily my old cars and I've only been stranded twice in the last 15 years. Once after swapping in an engine that had a bad oil pump, and after an alternator failed after testing good. Both times were shortly after getting the cars on the road. Considering how little I've done to improve what was already in those cars (fix things as they appear), and how reliable they've been, I'm fine with it. The car has already been gone through to make it reliable enough to drive, I just want to make some improvements in other areas, for my comfort.

Everything I own free and clear, and yes, it does feel nice.

Surely you don't need a working heater or defrosters in Minnesota? The dogs will want their heads out the window regardless the weather.

Defrost helps when the temp drops and there's moisture. I usually drive until then first snow, then they are off the road until the salt is rinsed off in spring.

I still have motor mounts to put in the Dodge purchased last year. It will not be the end of the world if they don't get installed this year. They are still in one piece, just collapsed to where the fan rubs on the shroud. That one took a while to find. Maybe the weather will hold and it will get done. Sun was shining this morning and went into hiding as the day grew longer. Oh well I fill a propane bottle for the furnace so we wil not freeze.

Just as forecasted, it rained most of the day today
It was low 50's today, this swing shift has messed me up. Couldn't fall asleep last night, fell asleep in the afternoon and woke up to a dark room.

Oh well. Forumlated a game plan for the garage this winter, mostly clean and organize, maybe throw some car work in there from time to time.

Hope you have a real good alarm clock. I have woken up on more than one occasion and looked at the clock. Oh crap, then realized it was Saturday and nothing to worry about.

I set seven (7) alarms so I wake up in time. The screwy part is o get used to one schedule when it's over after four weeks. I'm sure I'll be used to mornings in two weeks when I need to be used to nights.

But I'm getting used to cooler temps, which is good. My circulatory system is improving.

I am ready to go where it warmer. Sinuses don't like this weather. I suspect it's more harvest dust than anything. Propane tank only last two weeks if lucky. Soon it will be a few days.

Are you heading south again this winter?

Sunny and 60's today, took the Colorado to the shop to change the oil and I discovered the water pump was leaking:( So a extra hour later I had it changed. I had plenty to do at home and didn't want to spend the extra time, but it had to be done.

Pretty nice week for early November, 60's and 70's all week. Today was warm, 60's, but the wind was at least 40 mph and would gust up for there. Normal temps for November coming towards the end of next week
