It is starting

Back to the weather part of this thread, everything I shoveled yesterday, is covered. Glad I only did part, it was heavy ass snow! Laura called for a plow, $20 and my back won't crumble, I hope he doesn't move my landscaping again. The interstate is closed, most things out of town are closed. Laura's son is stranded at a closed gas station in South Dakota, in a day cab since Friday evening.

Still raining out, not freezing anymore though. I lucked out and never lost power, my friends were not so lucky. They were out most of the day yesterday.
Yup a scout, pretty much pulled apart. It is in a farm equipment junkyard so getting it out is easy and prob delivered. I am actually thinking 300 the body panels it will need are around 1k. I used to have one would really like another one kind of hard to find for a decent price most are restored.
When I was a kid, my dad had a Willys truck, not sure on the year though 55-57 maybe. He had a 283 Chevy in it, 3 spd, not sure what gears. It really hummed at 50-60, I am guessing it was running 3500 rpm at that speed.

Thats a bummer. No where to go for proper facilities. Hope he has food and winter ware.

While some of you are dealing with snow, we're lookin at a spring storm. Not snow-cold, but we got some wind chill and strong winds hittin the hills, hoping we dont lose power but just in case i got the woodstove burning (can't beat that wood-fired heat). In other news, my search for a 340 core for my demon continues. Was lookin at one a good ways away, $650 and had hot tank/bore/magnaflux work already done (or at least the listing claimed). Talks were going good til I asked about machining paperwork, no paperwork. I mentioned I was out-of-state but I knew a mechanic friend near his area and could check it out for me, "I'm outta state for a few days". Wait about a week and follow up, "Still have the block just come by with money". Asked if he could in any way substantiate the work done to it, "don't worry about it the block's not for sale anymore". Sketchy for sure, dodged a bullet on that one. Ain't got time for wheelin-n-dealin scams

Just like K-Note72 we had wind and rain all night, some friend showed up looking and asking about our 4 Mopars in shop, Bob gave him some low ball prices on 3 of them, cant believe another car might go away!

What's low ball on the coronet?

I think its 12k, I know the old guy Bob got the car from paid 10k just for the body and paint, the car was a total restore, same with the Dart, the 2 barracudas are un touched
If I call everything, donate plasma for a few months, and prune my money tree...damn, I'm out. It's nice to see people sell things for not astronomical prices, wish I was a player.

Stopped in Spring Carlisle yesterday to meet a guy that brought some old parts for me Pretty diverse show just wish I had more time there. Any one go to the Mopar nats there in July?

It was 44 when I left for work, snow melting away. I'll have the Polara out within a week, and I can get cracking on the 500. Rain on Monday, 70 next Friday. Gonna order a bunch of parts this next week and try to include the truck in all this wrenching. I managed to pick up four more sturdy half pallets for my storage unit, get everything off the floor and have the engines on a better base. Need to find some cheap shelving, garage sale season is fast approaching.
