Hello All:

This is my first post. I've been on For B Bodies Only for over 10 years. I've owned four B Body MOPARs in my lifetime and currently have a 1968 Road Runner.

I am considering buying a 1966 D100 Utiline (which is stepside in Chevy speak?). It is a original 318 Poly, retrofitted with a A518 in place of the original 4 speed, and lots of freshening up, BUT not a full blown resto. The cab was removed and the floorboards, rockers, and body mounts were replaced. All wiring is new. Newer wood bed. Vintique wheels and newer tires. New drums, brake shoes, wheel cylinders, etc. Mechanically it seems to be a good truck. Has a 10 year old MAACO paint job that shines up okay.

Never owned a classic Mopar truck. Don't know a single thing about sources for information.

I need help in making the decision here in that I MUST install POWER STEERING and probably should install DISC BRAKES. Not sure if I'll buy the truck unless I am confident these can be done at an affordable price. I understand the disc brakes can be a challenge as you need to tap holes and I have been told I'll probably break 5, or 6 taps doing that job. From what I can tell Power Steering might be just a straightforward steering box swap and a pully?

I'm going to test drive the truck 29 December and review the receipts. I'd like to get as much advice as possible and perhaps pointers to vendors/forums/groups for more information.

Appreciate any help! Take care.
