Saw some cool old trucks yesterday as I drove to look at a car for a European member of FCBO. I was able to stop and grab a couple pics if the ones that stood still, and got a decent shot of one pulling away from the curb.

And the reason I stopped:

The high school homecoming parade goes past our house and this was leading the way, I don't know if that's the principal and staff, but they look happy!

I really like the stance of this Jeep, the lowest ride height I'd want if I got one. I'd have taken a better picture if I could have gotten one.

And a truck that can go anywhere, the old reliable Yot. 330,000 on the body, replacement engine, looking for another 330,000 miles.

In northern Minnesota, in memory of sheriff Howdy.

Yet another truck I've seen at Walmart. I'd like this setup if I got another rig, use the 98 for whatever needs an 8 foot box and use this for hauling. If I was going to haul for a living or something, cause I don't haul squat! But I have my trailer!

Been a while! Saw this today as I was getting some tools for home improvement. Any reason to get tools!

just saw those trucks today , sorry no pics , owner said no . but the 63 d100 is a 61 d200 with a fmc spay wig on it , no bed . only 29k on it . old forestry truck still in factory green paint , rust free !!!! thec 70 d300 tow truck is a 383 4spd , has been painted once to the tow company colors , some floor rust driverside . and the typical seat mount crack . but it showed 47k on it , new rubber , both truck ran great . the 61 d200 would fix orangey up very nicely . the 61 has that cool grille . i'll keep you guys informed . i might be selling my 69 crewcab .

So, you might be "Orangeless"?

well , yes and no , the crew was to haul the race cars with a trailer , and gear n personal as well . and orangey is a hot rod driver , but she got wrecked on her passenger side and with all the cab n nose rust . a resto would be timely not to mention costly endeavor . so the 61 d200 is cherry !!!! no rust , showing factory paint on the underside cab n mounts . but its a long wb with no bed on it , got a tree spray rig mounted on the frame . so i hotrod it up and cut down the wheel base from 122 to 114 , that would be a shortly , utiline bed it , wa la ! a first gen 61 d series p/u with that one year grille short utiline . lug pattern change is simple , i have a half ton beam axle n spindle i've been converting to disc brakes , just a few bolts from being mounted in a p/u , and how would not want a dana 60 in the rear . just a couple cuts , add new axles , bearings and housing ends , and disc brakes maybe , for sure a track lock'r or limited slip diff with 3.54's in it . a buddy has all the stuff for cutting the housings down and welding the new ends on . another wa la . dana r/e , a833 4spd w/ 12'' clutch 143 flywhl , b 383 stroked to b 431 or just a rb 440 (got two in process for me now) , disc brakes on all four corners or just the nose , adventure bucket seat w/ buddy seat box in the center . it would be a very cool hotrod driver , i've got most of the stuff now . so if i could do it while i had orangey . it would be a trade one seat for the other . and now for the tow truck , its a 70 d300 b 383 , truck 4spd with a 14' alum alloy roll back tow bed with a electric winch on the bed . just like all the rest . and it even has a stinger a second car or p/u tobe towed front wheels up . it has new rubber , and an extra set of rims , non split 16'' rims just like the truck has on it . and i can hotrod up the engine a bit it been change over to a afb on a weiand alum intake from an iron intake n two bbl , or replace it with a 413 ind . got a couple setting around here , and i still have that 71 d400 , but it will major work just to get it up n driving . it could be a great 4x4 , i have a f600 4x4 with american rockwell drives n transfer case under it . that 71 d400 would be a great mountain truck . 413 loadflite or np 5spd . i'm in the process of contacting a member from fbbo that made mention of wanting orangey if i was to put her up for sale . and he's a fiberglass guy . i'm looking to glass up my two 63 plymouth b bodies . so no deals have been done , but its just a matter of time . oh ya the 61 d200 is still in the factory paint a dark green , so maybe greeny will be my new old hothod driver , and the towtruck was met dark green too , so i might just be going from orange to green , and on another note all you guys n gals have a hap happy fourth of july . after all many souls paid with their lives for the rest of us to celebrate their freedoms for them . so enjoy those freedoms citizens .

Gas station goodies. Saw this '83 Jeep J20 the other day. Guy picked it up at a nearby auction for $2300, looked pretty clean.

Then just before work, the owner of this truck was asking me about my '66 Polara, he had. '66 Monaco 500 back in the 70's or something like that.
