It is starting

Oh yeah, it's -8 right now, and I'm getting used to it. Not what I want, but 0 will feel like a heat wave.

Did not even go out today. Anything thawed would have only been temporary and another wasted bottle of propane. Tomorrow's low is predicted to be better than todays high and into the twenties Wednesday. So the thawing will start tomorrow. Just hoping there are no repairs to be made.
I agree with exceeding building codes. When the new house is complete hot and cold will no longer be a problem inside anyways.
It's just putting up with the old wreck until then.

Good colder than they predicted, I saw -20, was forecast to go to -24, but I didn't stay awake to find out. -1 now, might make it to 2 in a few hours!

We made it to 7 no wind and the sun was out. In all a nice day. Presently trying to thaw pipes out. If that is accomplish the low of -1 is not supposed to last long. There is enough propane in the bottle for about 6 hours. It should be in the warm up stage before that if the prediction is correct and in the 20's maybe tomorrow. We can keep the pipes liquid in the single digits without heat for about 5 or 6 hours. I sure hope this is the last of this artic air. We may even get above freezing Thursday. It has been 10 days now and a new record by 3 days already.
Got some more parts ordered for the Ford transmission today. Should have some tomorrow and some next week. This thing will be built to diesel spec's when done. It has sure been a learning experience being my first 5R110W. Still no expert by any means but the next one if ever need be will be lots simpler. Just let it not be this one.

I enjoyed the warm weather today, 2 above! I'll start the truck tomorrow when I go get some large boxes from the hardware store. Can't believe 5 foot long boxes aren't laying around all the time. ;)

I have one of those but you would have to tape it back together. The wife used to get me 3x6x1.5 foot ones with lids. I don't remember were she was working at the time.

That would be a good one. I'm getting some freezer boxes, a refrigerator box and some others. They are putting them out back so I can grab them, I have plenty of options!

This is the reason Bob cleans off all our carports and out buildings, this happened 41 years ago to our Barracuda, just a small scratch on the roof

Flat roofs and snow loads don't play well especially when it comes to old metal carports. Most were only designed to keep the sun and rain out.

Got the water line thawed. Now to keep it from going every where not wanted. The leak just had to be above the main shut off under the house.
Shut the water off and will deal with it tomorrow. Mud or ice it still better working in than cold puddles of water.

It's been below 0 at night, yesterday was only 12, today got to 18. I did get snow Monday into Tuesday about 10" worth. It sure piled up around the house.

It got up to 16 or so, it was great! So I waited til the sun went down, and so did the temp, to go retrieve my tool boxes from storage. Bottom two were empty, but I left a bunch of sockets and other goodies in the top box. Nothing to damage my body, but it wasn't light. Now I get to clean and organize the garage better next week when we get into the upper 30's! I can't wait to get a long dormant car running for the first time in who knows how long. Years of hoarding, I mean collecting, yeah, parts is about to start paying off. Getting antsy to get to work.

Tomorrow will be our first day above freezing in two weeks. Its about time! Still working on getting the water going and that will happen in the morning. The 1 ton will be getting a new tire that came in today.

Our weather here has warmed up, yesterday Bob took me up to Olympia to a casino and we finally got to eat inside at a Mexican joint, Bob got a call from the guy who bought the 58 and said he will pick it up Monday and check out the 56 wagon, very sad.

17! Nice enough to stay outside for a few minutes before you notice it's still winter. Bright sunshine makes it hard to see at first, but it's beautiful outside. I do like the seasons.

Tried turning the water on this morning. Heard a pop sound and had water coming out where it isn't supposed to. Picked up some more supplies. Maybe tomorrow. At least the lines are thawed out.
With above freezing temperatures all should be fine till next winter.
