What's Up Guy's and Gal's, My profession has been driver training for large vehicles. School Buses, Tractor Trailer etc for over 25 years. Dealing with classroom instruction and behind the wheel. I've been around and am not a youngster! I have millions of miles in Tractor Trailers and School Buses. Accident free I might add.

My deal is why are we still using stop signs. Hell, I don't know one person that stops at a stop sign besides me. I mean make a full stop. Not rolling through and saying you stopped. People are getting very careless IMO. I'm not saying your not out there, but we are far and few in-between if you are truly stopping.

It is getting to the point that I'm almost afraid to stop at the sign because the person behind me expects me to run it like every other one does. (REALLY) I have almost been rear ended, many times. Hell the cops don't even follow the rules. Law enforcement is just as bad as the rest. And there is no time for law enforcement to stop those that do. This is why no one really cares about stopping. People do it right in front of the law.

I want you to be honest, how many of you stop at a stop sign. Not many, and I might question the ones that say they do because most people really think they do. Don't fool yourself. Ask the question at work sometime. (hey do you make a full stop at a stop sign) See what you get? Sure, ya right!

So here's my thought, lets just replace them with YEILD SIGNS!!!!!!!!! This way no one would be breaking the law. Something has to be done. Don't get me wrong. They place stop signs for a reason. Danger can lurk there. I'm just sick and tired of all the careless drivers that are on our roadways. I do obey all stop signs. What's your thoughts and tell us your tales of aggravation or you may disagree with me all together. I'M SICK OF IT ALL!

No wonder they don't stop, you live in Speedway Indiana, you don't stop on a speedway!

All kidding aside, I stop 50% of the time. I live in the sticks, and I'll stop if I'm in town or when the girlfriend yells at me. But out in the country when you can see 5 miles in any direction, there is no need to actually come to a complete stop. In urban settings I always stop, cause I don't want to talk to a cop.

Why the cops are people to!
People who like my money! Laura works at a gas station overnight, and she knows all the cops, city county and state patrol. I think that has helped me many times over.

When I lived up near Minneapoli/st. Paul, I would always get on my phone so they knew I could tell the person on the line about what was happening, kinda the same results as telling them I'm recording them. They were always bigger pricks if I wasn't on my phone.

Understand the stop sign dilemma. I have actually pissed people of just because I stopped. The wife doesn't think it is to cool when I treat left turn red lights like stop signs. I have even been known to stop at green lights. Talk about making people mad that will do it.
Have thought about putting a sign on the back of the truck "do not honk because this vehicle shuts down and we will be sitting here a long time"
By the way are not fines double there for CDL drivers.

Funny stuff guys! It was just something to talk about. It happens everywhere, but in Speedway your right, just keep turning left or full bore at IRP Dragstrip, home of the Nationals. Nascar is running practice right now on the 500 track. Getting ready for the Brickyard. Fun place to live. The Road Rockets are having there get together this weekend. If your close stop by. It's all about the fifty's and cool cars and cooler girls.

Have a great weekend.

Funny story . When me and my now wife were out cruising late one night in my Charger . We had stopped at a flashing red light . She turned to me and asked why I had always smoked the tires for my friends but never did with her in the car ? I just looked at her , smiled , looked to my right , looked to my left , looked in back of me and then look ahead of me . There was no one in site at all . I brought the RPM's up to about 5 grand and popped the clutch . And in a loud roar the car lifted melting the tires bellowing smoke from both rear tires . I shifted from 1rst to second , moved a couple of feet , slammed 3rd , keeping the car straight and almost thru the intersection . We were sitting there and couldn't see a darn thing , not even in front of us . When suddenly , thru the smoke I could see very dim headlights with very dim blue lights on top in my rear view mirror . I said "Oh Carp !" . So I slowly pulled out of my cloud and pulled over about a half a block up the street . I just looked at her as I got my paper work out . We sat there for a good fifteen minutes while we waited for the cop car to make it thru the smoke . He finally did and then he punch's it and go's flying by me with my arm out the window holding the paper work . He realizes that he just passed me and locks up the brakes and smokes his tires in reverse back to me . He gets out of the car and walks up to me and says " I suppose you got a good reason for what just happened ? " . Well being young and stupid , I figured I'd give it a shot and said " Ah , My front brakes locked up and I was try to free them up ?" He walked back to the his car and ran my paper work and of course everything came back clean . Het hen walked back to my car and asked if I was sticking to that story . I said "That's the best I got" . He stood back and said "start it up" , I did , He said "And now try and move it" I tried my darnedest to stall out that four speed so that it looked like the front brakes were messed up . but of course it wouldn't stall . After a couple failed attempt's he told me to shut it down . He then looked at me and asked me if I knew of another 69 charger that was white from the next town over ? I said ,yeah I Know him ! He told me that , that was his best friend and he knew exactly what I was doing . Get that car home and don't let me see you again tonight . I cleaned out my pants and drove home very slowly .lol

But don't tell my wife I said that.
MaMa Bear ( My wife ) heard me laughing when I was reading this and told me to tell you that she doesn't see the humor in that statement . :shifty: lol

Well if her evil eye is anything like my wife's evil eye , then it was followed by a very cold breeze . lol

Some day I'll learn to shut my mouth when dealing with Laura, but i don't think it'll be anytime soon.
