Dodge truck rear axles

I feel a lot better having read this. I had nightmares about scraping my 99 van with a 3:55 suregrip. Now that I know that it wouldn't fit my D150, I'll just have to get over scraping a $50 jeep mail truck with a Dana. Forgot about changing the axel! DUH
I think that you mean scraPPing, not scraping.
You could save the axle and harvest the gears and differential out of it.

Though about that but it was high mileage and, people forget that if they drive it with a flat or anything that causes the tyers to be a different size, it quieefs the suregrip.
Ps: the autocorrect takes over sometimes even after I've changed it.

Looking at the prices for Dana60's, is it cheaper to convert a $150 eight lug to a five lug?
Everything on the end of the axle housing must go. Axles, drums, spools and brakes all need to be changed. If the eight lug axle is single wheel 3/4 ton it maybe cheaper to just find matching wheels. Depending on what housing your trying to replace some parts may interchange some may not. If you can get a response from the machinest on the sight they can give a better idea as to cost. But I wouldn't be surprised if it were not a break even deal.
