Hey everyone, its been awhile since I've posted. I've been driving my 84 D150 a lot again, and sometimes not all the time when I've been taking turns I've been getting a rough clank and grinding sound when taking turns, sometimes even just going down the road, and you definitely feel it throughout the truck when it happens, does anyone have any suggestions what to look at? This weekend when I have a day off from work(hopefully) I'm going to drop the trans pan and check to make sure there isn't a ton of shavings in there. Because I've been noticing that when the truck is hot it doesn't go down into first all the time at a stop light, so I have to drop it into first. Sticky valve I'm thinking the transmission was rebuilt about four years ago after some sand got into the transmission, pulled and cleaned the trans 2 or 3 times after the overhaul trying to make sure there isn't any sand left over, but still got that kinda sticky valve and sometimes when going into reverse the truck also locks up and won't go backwards. it'll roll forward after letting go of the gas, so you have to put it into neutral and give it a few seconds and then back into reverse and go. U joint's were replaced about 5 years ago, I'll take a look at them as well and make sure they're still good and lube them up.
