The gauge on the dash shows normal pressure but who knows how accurate that is. The noise was not there until now so it kind of worries me. I was thinking about getting an oil pressure gauge and threading it into the sending unit bore, probably should. I ruled out tappet or rocker arm...
Hi how are you all doing? I had a question... When I first start the 5.2 Magnum in my 1993 Dodge Dakota there are no noises but after it is driven a bit and warmed up I can hear a tick tick tick noise coming from underneath, main bearing? If I rev it up a bit it seems to quiet a bit but at...
Really? I figure that it would be a cheap way to put larger tires on, find a junked Durango and take the rims. My rims are 15x6, Durango rims are 15x8. The little 205/75s I have are too small, I want to be able to put larger tires on, maybe 70s or some big 65s.
6 lug rims
I have 1993 Dakota and of course it has the same 6 lug rims. Anybody know if 1998 15x8 rims off a Durango/Dakota would fit right on it? Or would the offset be wrong? Thanks
Dakota
No my '93 is in good shape, runs great. You haven't been able to find anything on ebay or anything? It is hard to find anything decent on there that isn't a week's ride from here. I swear I've seen some parts on there that are what you are looking for though. -Rich
'42 chassis
That sounds pretty sweet too but Wisconsin is a little out of my range. I have a '93 Dakota standard cab, short bed with the 5.2. Yeah it might be fun in the snow. Heh
truck frame
A '55 has a nice body style, how is the body? You are kind of a haul from where I am but if it would be worth my while I might consider it. What would you want for the frame? And maybe some mounting brackets if they are still usable? There's other things I can probably use, but...
guess on weight
About what? 3500 lbs or so? I know the regular cab with the 318 is about 3300 or so, I read it somewhere. So add the weight of an extended cab and it should be about that.
I was wondering, probably a shot in the dark, if anybody out there had an old truck frame kicking around they wanted to part with. 1930s-1960s vintage. Want to build a rat rod and have a 318 to put in it. I live in Chester, CT Thanks.
Yeah runs real good, quite a find I got down at an auction sales place. I spotted it among all the other vehicles they had for sale and being the mopar monger I am I decided to check it as I saw that big ole V8 Magnum emblem on the front. I started it up and I took for a test drive and said to...
Super Dak
That piggyback came with the supercharger? Or did you buy it seperataly? You maybe getting some serious blowby especially at boost. Check PCV/Breather and see if it is working correctly. Does it burn any oil? Maybe check the plugs to see if there is any deposits on them. Belly...
Your Dak
That thing should be faster than that! Stock Dakotas do that in the quarter. Those big ole 20 inch rims probably don't help for one, how much boost on the supercharger? Did you have to reprogram the computer? Mopar has them performance computers, and I've seen modules called...
Here is my 1993 Dodge Dakota 5.2 I've done some painting on it because the original paint was peeling off. Kind of like the black hood myself.

I did a quick video with it running also, you think somebody did something with the...
Hey what size rims and tires are those? I still have the factory 15s on my '93 Dak want to upgrade they look too puny! I'm thinking 16s or maybe 17s. Can get expensive quick.
Dart sounds nice! Those '89 Shelby trucks don't have the roller engines eh? Would be cheaper to upgrade the '302' headed motor a little if you wanted. I'm surprised Shelby didn't modify the motor, just putting a v8 in a first-gen Dakota was good enough I suppose. I think if I had the choice I...
1500 Express
I think they're quite the deal for the money, I mean you get the Hemi as the base engine and the rebates from the factory bring the price down $2000 or so. I gotta catch the next episode, maybe I'll look on the website.
Yeah it looks like a regular old Ram, no bells and whistles. The owner can add whatever they want to the base package though. I'll have to catch the the next episode where he modifies the engine a bit. All he did so far is add a a dual-snorkel type hood and a tonneau cover.
