78 Dodge d150 318 automatic is not staying running now

On a 318 there shouldn't be a gear. The gear is on the oil pump shaft which has a slot in the topand the dizzy shaft inserts into the slot. At least on every one I've pulled. The plastic gear is found on the 225 dizzy.

Looking to buy 2006 ford f-150, need your advice!!!

Didn't those have the spark plug problem or is it new enough to have the cam phase problem that crops up right about the mileage that truck has?

    Radio issues

Check the antenna and its connection to the radio. It acts as the ground. Well, at least on my 92 Dakota.

    '98 2500 Starting Issues

Kool beans! Good luck! One other thing it might be is the ECU temp sensor. This is not the sensor for the gauge. It tells the ECU what the engine temp is. If the ECU thinks the engine is warm it wont set the A/F ratio for cold start. There are two temp sensors at the front of the engine on the...

    '98 2500 Starting Issues

Oil on the bottom of the intake. This is a sign of a blown intake plenum gasket, as another member posted. A minor leak causes minor oil consumption and the HVAC controls dont work properly On acceleration, say up a hill the HVAC defaults to the floor vents. Let off the throttle and it will go...

BTW, it must be done quickly or it won't work. Good luck. Also, did you look down the throttle body with the flutterbys open?

    '98 2500 Starting Issues

ON,OFF,ON, OFF, ON. Do NOT turn to START. Look at odo or trip meter if digital, check engine light if analog. Digital will display the code such as p0301, which is cyl 1 misfire. Oops....this is OBD II it will be the odo. The check engine light is OBD. 98 is OBD II. Sorry for the confusion.

    Tired Of Trouble Shooting.

If all is well, turn the key to ON. The fuel pump will run until the system is pressurized fully. You will probably hear the relays (if you transferred the wiring from the donor truck). Then turn the key to start. It should fire within three revs. Have you checked for a bad plenum gasket yet...

OBD II vehicles will perform the key dance trick, the digital odometer shows the codes.

    Tired Of Trouble Shooting.

Look down through the throttle body with a flashlight. If it is wet you bave a bad plenum gasket. Odds are you do.

    Large Horn on '99 F350

The FIAMMs on both my bikes are plastic. Never seen anything else. IIRC they were OEM on one of the bikes. Been on there 30 years.

    Large Horn on '99 F350

Get a different horn. Look at FIAMM dual note trumpets. Will wake the dead in East St. Louis after midnite. Used on emergency vehicles. I think HF has them or similar knockoffs. I have a pair on both my moorsickles and were tested in East St. Louis. Saved my bacon. They draw plenty of current so...

    Body swap on dakota

I've seen a late 50s Dodge on a Dakota chassis and you couldn't tell it until you looked under the hood, etc. Even incorporated the Dakota instrument panel, etc.
