Time For A Rebuild

Plans and reality are often to different things even with the best planning.
My plans for each year have gotten sideways for the last couple of years, but it's because I got other projects that got in the way. I only have one last project I'd go after, and it would throw off my entire plan, my old '68 Charger R/T. But I could build most of my fleet for what that one would cost me to get restored... But I can dream.

Holy bleeping crap balls Batman! I should have listened to my inner retard (copyright Christopher Titus) and not gone for a spin with the camper. No disaster occurred, but my pride suffered a bruise, and I'll take it.

I went around to see how it towed, trailer brakes were coming on too soon, so I pulled into a gas station to try to adjust my controller. Couldn't figure it out, have a calendar hanging above it that was in the way, shadows inside the cab, and the 8 year old granddaughter asking questions as an 8 year old would. Then the brakes didn't work on the trailer! Huh? No big deal, it's a mile or so to home and made it there without issue. I went to bring the trailer through the alley, and then the damn hitch came off the rails in the bed! I thought I ripped the rails off, that would have sucked. Of course I had no clue what the heck was going on with what. I raised the camper up and lined up the hitch, and with help from a neighbor I hadn't met, (and still don't know his name) we got it back in place.

I got to learn how my breakaway cable operates. Plugged it back in, and moved the camper around the block in front of a neighbor's house. They rent, they'll be ok.

The damn pins are in my car in storage. :banghead: And Laura is usually so good about remembering what we still need to do. My ego isn't hurt, as I thought I was a poor tower in the first place! I'm just glad I figured out real quick how to move the thing from blocking the road.

Can you guess where I'm headed... right now?

Got to keep those pins with the hitch next time. The old in sight and not forgotten. Then there is were the heck did I put those. The fun part of getting older can be real frustrating at times.

Isn't it fun playing hide and seek with yourself??? :banghead:

They are in.

They may never come out again...

I did want to make it look pretty before I put the rails in. I can always take it out and clean up the bed some more. Maybe.

Maiden voyage went well! The wind we have here sucks! But it wasn't too bad, hope I have a tailwind on the way home.

Did you get the brake controller explained to that 8 year old grand-daughter?
No, but when I figured out how it worked, I realized I somehow turned the setting down to the minimum, resulting in no trailer brakes. I didn't feel it at all, but I moved the slider! After I said "Stupid, stupid, stupid" about forty-nine times, she looked at me a little funny, and walked away. I'll have to show her later, then she can tell me what I'm doing wrong next time.
