What is involved in replacing a 5.2 with a 5.9

I bought a few trucks recently and one is a 2000 1500 2WD with a knocking 5.2 Automatic.
A friend of mine has a new 5.9 long block still wrapped up in plastic. So my question is, what needs to be done to make it work where a 5.2 was? Mainly with the electronics. Thanks for your help.

They might use the same electronics, as for the engines, are the magnums all balanced the same? I had a '94 that the 318 had been yanked for a 360, I don't think there was anything swapped computer-wise. I have to call my friend and ask if he remembers what he did.

5.2 is internal glance 5.9 is external balance but different than la360 so you need 5.9 weighted flexplate or weighted torque converter. Not sure on years but some of the early 5.9's had the flex plate weighted and neutral tc later weights on tc I think.
