I had a major oil leak and the rear seal was bad. I thought maybe the converter was causing a vibration that caused the seal to go bad. It wasn't the cause thankfully. The upper half of the rear seal was in backwards. The engine was assembled in early 90's and survived this long. My bag.

While we are discussing transmission identification does anyone who how to read the four digit warranty date code the pan rail?
