I grew-up next to a garage. It was a two lane mobile station in service from the 40s and 50s, but was shut down in the late 60s. The smell of gasoline and burning oil was never too far off. Hector " the mechanic" lived on the site with his wife and four boys, but the boys where not into cars. In my early teens, I'd drive his beat-up '56 F100 truck to the auto parts store. I drove looking through the steering wheel. Well, that was my indoctrination to driving. I love trucks.
