Its simple. It's to help keep spam posts from reaching you. If a new member posts something with certain key words like viagra or sex or iphone, or posts an image, then the post is moderated, which means I have to approve it before it goes live.

After your first 10 posts the filter goes away.

More work for me, overall better experience for members.
