looks like a lot of ya are no responding: so here goes an effort to get some interest. 1) had an (bought it new-ordered it my way) 02 Dakota, Club cab,4.7,Hd 5 speed manual, A/C - yes there was a light duty and HD manual- 3.55's. 2) added TRUTRAC carrier, Cat. back and shorty headers, 2wd! 3) Would hit 100mph in 3rd gear with two gears to go, 1/4 mile in 15.2, pull our 16 ft. steel deck with the 66 Satellite on board, got 21 mpg on its own 15 mpg towing, had at one time a yard of top soil in the box (approx. 1800-1900 lbs. 4) it was my winter vehicle ( had to but the motorcycle up in the snow season. so it got real rusty. While I have been a tech since 1968 I hated and am NOT skilled at body work. So we waved goodbye to it with only 90k on it one year or so ago.
What replaced it was a used Ram 1500 - prices were stupid high here in the north east, so spent a lot of time looking, knew what I wanted in it. And like the Dakota it would replace I wanted a "TRUCK" that could do -TRUCK STUFF! I live 15 miles north of Albany NY. Found what I wanted in West Virginia. August of 22 got on the bike at 5am drove to West Virginia handed the money over loaded the bike in the back and drove home (19 hours, that includes fuel stops, one meal each way, paper work and loading time. What I found: 2016 Ram 1500 tradesman, Reg. cab, 8 ft. box, 2WD, HD 6 spd auto, 3.55's - options chrome appearance group, power & remote entry group my first vehicle with power windows - what will they think of next?, popular equip. group 40.20.40 bench,5.7, Uconnect 5.0 for Rebecca, Tow package (which get all the HD "stuff". So it is a pretty basic package, but has a tow rating of 9090lbs. Have added in the first few months; Who ever ordered it with a tow package also had hitch delete ?? So I added a 12,000 lb. class V hitch as it was $100 less than a 10,000 lb., K&N 63-1561 air intake, MBRP s-5142409 single exhaust ( all Rams are single at the engine anyway, why pay for two tail pipes?, upgraded the Uconnect 5.0 with a back up camera from "infotainment.com", Diode Dynamics White LED dot/sae legal DRIVING lights R110925, Morimoto boost bar license Plate light R138702, Extang Trifecta Signature 2.0 Tonneau cover. The reason for the license plate light is that it is 25 led bar of light that I wired into the reverse circuit (stock plate lights are still there needed for state inspection), will light up the rear for 80-100feet. As the factory back up camera has a night vison type camera, the infotainment does not. very comfortable at interstate speeds 70-80 mph get 23mpg on the 70end and 21 at 80mph. That is what is nice about the 6 spd. auto it gets into overdrive at much lower speeds than the 8 spd autos (especially if the truck comes with the 3.21's

You can keep the Ram I will take the 66.

I am just down to two now. My two owner 96 Ram V10 2500 4x4 that I have owned since 98. Michigan winters are killing the body though. Also, have a 2004.5 3500 CTD dually 4x4.
