rear rust on wheel well on my 2003 dodge ram 1500 quad

Kevin you act surprised. It's a common problem with Dodge trucks in MO worse in Chebbies & about the same in Pherds.

You know the best way to fix the rust?
You heat the panel around the wheel opening & pulll out the foam sealer through the hole that you cut in it to get the rust out.
Media blast or wire brush the outer panel & as much as the inner as you can
Treat it inside & out with Ospho or Extend rust killer cure for 24-48 hrs
Put a grinding disc on upside down & grind a small edge on the inside of the outer panel & glue your patch from the inside welding it will create more rust in the future
Fill with Duraglass & finish your body work
I drill holes in the inner fender where the water & mud will wash out & use the to spray undercoat on the repair to seal it most of the time you can reach up over it & spray too
Most bodyshops won't do this cheap

I fix a lot of rust & I have cars & trucks riding around that I fixed like this 20 years ago still
