OM617 swap anybody tried it?

I have an 80 that I can't decide which direction to go with. I have a 400/727 available and like that but I like different. I've read about the Merc OM617 diesel swap into older trucks and thought it might be cool but probably under powered. I'm not wanting a monster, just something fun. Any thoughts?

I had to google it to see what it is, MB 5cyl diesel with a turbo about 125hp. Power would be very similar to a slant6. If geared right it should run pretty good and get some good mileage. It would be different though. With the little bit I searched there are adapters and some performance parts. Could be a neat swap. If you do it start a thread and post pic's so we can enjoy it also.
