Hello all,
I am excited to say that my new project has arrived safely from Kansas!

We believe that she's a 1946 3 ton tipper truck. (178 inch wheelbase)

Has anyone got any information about these trucks in particular, I was a bit surprised to find two fan belts on the engine (T135) and what I believe to be vacuum brake system?

I'm new to the classic American scene, and extremely new to Dodge (this one that I have is the only known one in Europe!)

So I'm here for information, guidance and advice if I may.

Looking forward to getting tucked into this project and get her running again like the good old days!

Thank you
Stay safe

Only been around one and that was years ago. Brakes are probably hydro-vac. Parts are still available on the web for the braking system. Look for the unit under the cab as that is were most got hidden.

Nice old truck! What are your plans for behind the cab? All kinds of possibilities.

Im thinking of doing this project in a two pase (maybe three) restoration.... Phase 1, get all the old running gear and engine working and driving again, slapping a custom built flat bed on the back and using it for a while.

Phase 2, I'm going to convert the back into a custom built vehicle transporter with tilting bed and winch.

Phase 3 (I'd prefer not to need it) - might end up converting to a Cummings diesel and modernization. Depends on how well I can get the original stuff working. (If I do this I'm going to paint it black too)

I'll be looking for parts and bits to get the original going as best I can first!

Phase 2 would be my preferred choice as well. I hope you can keep it original, just don't see many that haven't been modified.
