Well guy's , as some of you might know . I've had an H-Code 70 Dart since about the late 80's early 90's and it hasn't been on the road since 2001 . Over the years I put it up for sale a few times as a roller and got tired of the tire kickers and the low ballers . So I decided to get it running and then decide weather I wanted to sell her or not . But during the build I kinnda got outa control and went over board and said HELL NO , I'm keeping it ! And dumped a ton of money and time into her and finally got to drive her for the first time in 12 years . Well she runs and looks great and the attention she gets is unbelievable . But it's funny how life can take a left turn sometimes . There's been this one 79 440 warlock that I've wanted ever since the guy that bought it sent me a picture of it years ago . He said that he would never sell it but if by some slim chance he ever changed his mind that I would have the first crack at it . Well just as I thought I was done , the Dart is now going up for sale and let me introduce you to "my" 79 440 Warlock . This is it right after it got pulled off the trailer . After I wash off all the dirt I'll post a few more pictures . But here I go again , another project . "Just when I thought I was IMG_2086.jpgIMG_2087.jpgIMG_2088.jpgIMG_2089.jpgdone" ! lol

The Warlock is going to be a neat project, shame you have to sell the dart. What are you asking for it?

Yah it's killing me that now I have to sell it after all that work and money I just put into it but I just don't have the time , room , or finances to have both of them . But I've wanted this one Warlock for a loooong time . Plus I really miss having a big block . I had someone come over here that knows Mopars "very well" and he told me that if I were to sell it as it stands now before I do anything else to it that it's a 15 K car . So If someone comes up to me with between 13 K and 15 k then I'll let it go .

That's a pretty good price for your dart concidering all the work you've put into it. What your plan for the warlock?

IMG_2099.jpgThanks stan , I hope other people thinks so . I "have" put a lot into the Dart . I even went as far as to put a "new" gas tank and sending unit in it , just to make sure everything was fresh and "no" problems . I built the Dart to just be a really fun and quick car that you could drive anywhere . Now with the Warlock , I'm thinking "hot rod truck" . The 440 will have just the right lump in the idle to speak for it's self without ever having to open the hood . And if I do it right on the occasions that I might take it to the track , It should pull high 11's low 12's in the quarter . But it "will" be 100 % streetable . I'm even thinking about putting A/C in it sense it will only be driven during the summer months and I'm getting to old to sweat . lol For the paint , I'm arguing with myself . I was originally going to mint it out and repaint it with a wicked black paint job . One that when you look at it you just fall into the paint . But now that I washed all the dirt off of it and I'm looking over the original paint , I'm trying to decide weather I should just buff out the original paint and kinda make it look like a survivor . What do you think ?

IMG_2099.jpg

Heck I'd buff it out then see what you think, I kind of like the survivor look if the paint is still good looking. but the paint job you described would be WOW!!! That's going to be sweet with a pumped up 440 in it. Is it an auto or 4 speed?

I'm seriously thinking about doing just that . It's got a couple of spots were there's a little surface rust so I'm thinking about buffing it out and just hit those spots with a little black primer . After that , what I'm thinking right now is to spend the winter going threw the suspension , brakes , interior and tweaking out the motor some . So when I bring it out in the spring it's mechanically sound and ready to kick some brand X but . Then maybe enjoy it like that for a while then throw that Killer paint job on it later . As for the tranny . The guy I got it off of had a stick in it but when he started to have problems with the tranny , he swapped it out for a built 727 . It's got stuff like a TCI valve body in it already . But the truck is still set up for a stick . It's still got the pedals and everything so if I ever wanted to go with something like a 5 speed I could .

Sounds like a good plan bear, I'd want to drive the wheels off that thing for a while before taking it down for a paint job.

I was playing with tires and wheels , just to see what I was going to run when I bring it out . As much as I like the old school Cragar SS's , I think I like the older school Chrome reverse better . IMG_2104.jpgIMG_2107.jpg

I like the cragar and white letters better myself

What ever I run there definitely going to be mounted black wall . I really do like the Crager SS's but I'm leaning towards the chrome reverse for a couple of reasons . #1 I have to see how wide the rears are because I plan on putting some really big meats under the rear fenders . The chrome reverse are either 10" or 12" wide . #2 Only the front ones are direct bolt . The rears are uni lug and with the power I plan on putting to the ground ? Well I'm not to sure about running a uni lug on the rear . #3 Even though the Crager's are old school , the chrome reverse are older school , and so am I . lol

I just thought of something . I guess it's time to change my avatar "again" . lol

 Good thing I don't buy my tires from Luigi .

What ? You don't want a set of WIDE whites for your truck ? lol ..... I normally like either black wall or if I do run white letters , then I like the ones with the small letters . Like the goodyear's I have of the front of my Dart .
Lol I'm a white letter guy

Now THAT ( if done right ) would look cool ! I saw a rat rod pick up at the cruise night the other night that had no profile 20's on it that look like they came off of an import or something . Maaan did that look stupid . :puke:
Lol id rock wide whites on a 30's-50's dodge truck

Wtf... What's the point? My buddy Larry (63 morepar of fabo) is gonna be starting on a 54 dodge. He has some vintage f70 14 wideoval white letters on the back so he can roll it. They look freakin awesome!
