The short version is....I used to see this old timer and his wife at the Tim Horton's I go to every morning and he had a 77 Volare woody wagon. I used to joke with him all the time telling him if he ever wanted to get rid of it that I had first dibs. I even gave him my number.
Last summer he called me and said he wanted to sell it.....but only to me. We loosely agreed on $500. The car needs bodywork. His wife wasn't real good at parking and raked the passenger side against a pole.
Anyway....I never heard from him again. Turns out he passed away. Sort of suspecting this I called his place last winter and sure enough his wife gave me the bad news. She said one of his last wishes was that I get the car. His wife said she'd call me in three weeks and we could set it up. Again.....nothing....till last night.
She called and said the car was mine.....free. I can pick it up whenever I like. Although I'm very grateful this will be car #5 in the fleet.....where the hell am I gonna put this thing?
Here we go again.
