Went to the store today to pick up
a few items for Easter dinner. After
about 30 minutes, my shopping was done.
Out the front door I went, and steered
my cart to the rear of my car. I loaded
up the trunk and proceeded to return
the cart. Looking towards the front
of the car I saw the horror of horrors
as an empty cart (rear wheels off
the ground) was sitting on top of
my front bumper. My worst dreams
came true as I now have a deep
gouge in the bumper of a otherwise
pristine 7 year old car. The body shop
wants $500 to fix it. From a shopping
cart! I'm losing faith that there is
anyone out there left with an ounce
of integrity. Dang it....

I don't remember there being hills in Roswell. Must have been the wind or a space alien.

No pics, didn't have my phone with
me. It looks like the cart was hit
which sent it flying. It hit the bumper
cover hard enough to put about a 4"
gash, clear through like it was sliced
with a knife. Luckily it didn't take
anything else out.

Bumpers are made out of paper mache these days, or the cap, which is what we see. When I bumped a car at less than 5mph, it cost over $1k to fix it.

That looks a lot worse than mine.
It's just the point of the thing. People
just don't seem to care, or don't have
any respect for other peoples'
property.
I pulled the cover and brought it to
the Ford dealerships body shop. They
couldn't repair it, so I'm out $500.
I also went back to the grocery store
to see if they could review the
parking lot video from Sunday
afternoon. Said they'd call if they
spot the incident.
The Jeep pic will give you some
idea as to how I care for my cars.
It's 42 years old (repainted in 1987).

If they had to pay to use those carts and got their money back when parked correctly that would stop. If you have ever been to an Aldis Grocery you will see this working at it's best. Other wise most of it is pure laziness. Hope you find something on the video useful.
