Have a '74 w/ a '71 460 that started dieseling, backfiring, hard to start and sometimes dying while driving. Just replaced plugs, wires, cap and roter as well as vacuum advance then timed. Replaced both fuel filters. I think it is down to either the solenoid or the ignition module. Any ideas? Thanks.

Have not worked one of those in years. My vote is on the module if you dont get a signal at the coil. Can be checked with a test light at the primary circuit.

I would be looking at the module also, does it ever quit?
