Hi, I'm new to this Forum and am looking for any input that you may have about getting better gas milage out of a RB motor in a 3/4 ton 4X4.
I started the project in 1990 and due to some dificulties just fired it up a couple months ago. we couldn't get the TBI system to work that I bought in 91 so it has a holley 750 on it, its getting 5.69 per gallon, its a mild built 426 Wedge and has been dyno tuned.
Any suggestions?
Thanks'.

i would say thats pretty good mpg for a built rb motor.....my 85 w250 360 trk got 6-8 depending in driving style it was a factory q-jet 4bbl truck with 4.10's

Is your 750 a vacuum sec. carb ?,if so you need to get some vacuum readings. Then you can tune the power valve and sec. diaphragm spring.

What gears are in the truck? When the 440 was still in my truck it would get 12mpg towing or not. It had the 2.94 rear gears.

My SWB 440 D150 with 4.56 gears & 29X10.5 tires got 8mpg @45mph it ran 7.40's in the 1/8 street driven
The other BB trucks that I had varied with the gears & weight as I can remember
I had one that could smell a gas station 20 miles away A 76' 400/727/3.55 Club D100 LWB
