I'm getting flat spots when I accelerate, right around the 2500rpm mark. Any ideas?Anyone else have this issue?

Any codes? Do you have a way to test fuel pressure?

No code and the check engine light doesn't come on either. Are you thinking it might be the fuel pump?

It could be, but you need to check the fuel pressure when it happening. I would be also looking at the tune up, could be a ignition misfire.
1996 is probably a year or two early for the likes of the OBDII Scan tools to read. I found that out with a couple of 1998 model vehicles.
