Hi all,

I got my truck running good so now it's time to focus on getting the brakes sorted out. I decided to start with the rear and after tearing down the brakes on the driver side I noticed a gap or crack on the bottom of the spindle where it meets the axle tube. New to the floater axles so some input would be very much appreciated.

Not a crack but where the two parts were mated. Put your finger on the parting line and tap the flange with a soft hammer. Does it move or vibrate?

Hello, tapped on the flange and didn't feel vibration or movement like you mentioned.
What's the other side look like? Same?
Piece is still solid I would think. But wait for Crankyone's response. He has done many of these.
Been awhile since I've worked on a floating axle rear.....heck, when so many of the axle parts started coming from China, I stepped out of building any kind of rear ends. When you have to do machine work on brand new parts, something just isn't right. Sick of the crap we get from that freaking place.
