I just bought a 78 D200. I'm trying to put brakes on the rear but it has the oddball holddown springs. What type of tool is used to remove them?

Any pic's of the springs? So we know what were looking at.

I just use standard brake pliers.

I used visegrips.

Are you talking about the two round springs that hold the shoe's on ?

It's the springs near the top of this picture. Not the long springs.
