Good morning, usually hang over on Trifive, thought Id check out this forum as I recently purchased a 57 3100 on 72 Blazer frame & running gear & a 67 bed😵‍💫. Good project.

Thank you.
Im looking for a hood rocket for this 57. I see reproductions @+- $500.
Id like to sand cast from a rough one as a mold. I read in one link that they are distinct- left & right, but not seen verification of that claim. In any case if someone has a beat up original I can bondo the defects and cast from that.

Yeah those reproductions from LMC are pricey but sometimes you gotta bite the bullet if you can't find a decent original to work with.

Yup I too have a heinz 57 I'm building a piece at a time too. A truck that I thought I had everything "to" when I started. When all is said and done, the title will still say 1983 d250/but all that will be left of that original truck once it's all back together will be the cab the dash with the vin tag and possibly the hood.
Outwardly it will look like an 86-90.
It will have parts from the 70s to 2000 in it.
