Should be doing that before too long. My next question is regarding the fuel tank. I really don't want to put it back behind the seat. And I really don't want it at the rear in the frame because I'd like to put a spare tire there. Any suggestions for donor vehicle tanks that would fit inside the frame rails under the box?

You should already have the perfect tank in your 74 frame. http://demulsion.wordpress.com/2010/01/06/sweptline-gas-tank-swap/ As far as dual tanks, lots of these trucks had aftermarket saddle tanks installed just ahead of the rear wheels.
