The 360 engine in my '77 W100 parts truck was thoroughly shot, the previous owner must have really ran it through the wringer. I bought a 360 from an '85 W250 and I wonder if the engine was made in Mexico. The timing chain cover said made in Mexico and all of the belts were Mexican as well. The block is mroe or less identical to the old block, although the exhaust valves are different. The '77 is dished surface on the combustion side while the '85 has a flat surface. The dish takes up about 2cc and the flat one should raise the compression ratio slightly. Was the valve change an across the board change in the 80s or was it a "Mexican thing"? Just curious.
