Do any of you truck experts know of an available, reasonably priced front drum to disc brake conversion for a 74 Dodge 3/4 ton 4x4? Drum brakes on this truck are downright scary coming down a long hill with a full load.
I believe you should be able to swap out the whole spindle assembly from a another 3/4 ton Dodge truck with disc brakes right up to 93 or at least up to 79 but I'm pritty shure you can go up to 93 . I've swaped late 70's assembly's with one's as far up as 93 on half ton's so that should work for you on your 3/4 ton .
if you want to retain the hubs then either a chebbie or ford setup will work. im doing something similar to my 74 W100 with a ford dana 44, im swapping over the spindles, outer axle stub-shafts, proportioning valve, calipers, and hubs.
