Hi All,

Where would I find the serial # and or Vin # of this model truck ?

Did they match stamp tranny's or engines back then?

It's likely on the firewall under the hood, think it was a couple years later they started putting the VIN plate on the driver's door jamb. No, engines and transmissions weren't serialized until 68.

Yeah I think your right . I kind of remember seeing VIN plates there on older model trucks .

Actually on 57's its on the drivers frame rail just behind the bumper. It will be stamped into the vertical surface of the C channel frame rail. I've heard they also put a paper one in the glovebox but none of the trucks I've gotten had it survive by the time I got them
