Ok I’ve got lots of stuff done so far, engine is out, painted engine bay, redoing some interior sound deadening and speaker covers. Even had a crazy idea for a seat and console upgrade. 😂

I like the seats and console. What are they from? They look kind of straight up, when they are pushed back to have good leg room are the seat backs hitting the cab?

They’re from a 2018 Denali. Once the brackets are modified and you can bolt it in the seats have a pretty wide range of movement. More than the factory seat position. I can try to take some maximum and minimum photos if you would like to see. 👍🏼 I haven’t gotten it all in yet but since I swapped to the early suburban window switches & trim it’s a little tight from side to side. 😂

Ok so to make the seats work the floor and seat track has to be modified. It’s not too difficult although it is tight with the upgraded switches. Once I get both seats mounted I’ll be able to determine the position of the console and fabricate mounting brackets for it as well. Made some new foam inserts for the mirrors as well.

Those seats are too nice for that truck! Just kidding, they are a huge upgrade over what was offered originally. Looking good, keep it up.

It’s been forever but progress has been made! Interior is almost complete. And I’ve chosen to go with a 2017 GenV 6.2L & 8 speed from an Escalade. I’ll upload some more pictures of the rest later. Work has had me busy with customers cars. 😂

Nice, I like the engine and trans combo. What did you use for engine mounts? What front accessory drive are you going to run?

I used factory mounts with adapter plates. Transmission mount is factory too. I had thought about going aftermarket for the accessory drive when I had plans for an older LS but for the GenV they’re all too expensive. I’m just going to leave it factory and use relocation brackets for the A/C compressor.

Progress is slow since we bought my wife her truck. I’m swapping a 454 in hers. Mostly been cleaning everything up and getting some small stuff sorted out.

Yea her grandpa had one when she was a kid, she’s wanted one of her own ever since. Now I’ve got it all torn down 😂
