Very nice, I have the exact year and model truck only with a 2 tone paint job. I have the exact same swap planned too! Good luck with sale.

I had an 88 all stock, got rid of 20 years ago because I got sick of chasing problems with the damn TBI system I didn't have any extra manifold or carb around, to gut the TBI. 318 short bed 2wd and hands down the WORST vehicle I have ever had for mileage, that 440 would probably be more efficient than what that truck was.
And that says alot considering some of the vehicles that I have had.

318 short bed 2wd and hands down the WORST vehicle I ever had for mileage,

Sorry to hear about your experience.
My experience was a lil different; I sold and installed my winter-engine, a freshened Lo-Compression 318LA, into my son's 84 D100 reg.cab/reg.bed, with a Themoquad and smallport intake on it. The trans was an A998 with the 2.74/1.54/1.00 gearing and the rear was a 3.23 SG. The TC was a 2800 and tires were 275/60-15s. I had to fab up a "pinion snubber" to kill the wheel-hop, but it didn't kill the wheelspin.
That thing hauled azz in First gear, and not bad in Second , and
at 60=2300, not bad on gas, especially compared to my 430hp 367.... lol.
My son drove that combo for many years, until just before he got married; I'll guess 8 or more years.

by far NOT the only Dodge truck I have ever owned.... I had many before and after that one....that experience with others told me that 88 wasnt a "typical" Dodge... Im redoing an 85 as we speak, just completed a 2500 mile trip with a 360 powered 280K mile Durango while pulling a trailer thru mountains of KY and TN..... and did better on fuel than that particular 318 would do empty still have yet to own anything besides a Dodge.
