1984 Prospector

I will be picking up an 84 Ram 1/2 ton 2wd with a prospector package. What exactly is that. I've been looking around and from what I can figure out, just adds a few badges.

Also, did they ever put limited slip in the 9.25's. I was looking for a 4wd but they are usually high mileage, rust buckets or lots of money. This ram has a good body, 110000 miles on a 318. A friends grand father bought it new, gave it to my buddy who just hates trucks...and Dodge.

Anyone knowing where a limited slip 9.25 is let me know.

Also, i have a 518 trans from a 1 ton 1990 van. Do all i need to do is swap mounts?

Pospector package was mostly all luxury options to the interior options and the exterior trim options, and 318 engine. I don't think it added anything past that but I could be wrong.

My 84 D250 Prospector came with a .360 engine in it, still have it, still runs.


and it has cruise control, and a/c, and tilt steering wheel....

now it has add ons, too.

Hooker headers
Edelbrock 4 barrel carb... that kind of stuff.

Mine has cruise control, air, came with a factory am/fm cassette, now has a modern sound system with satty radio, hd fm, cd player, and one of those flash ports to hook up your MP3 player in it. The bench is now gone and inside it is a split bench with fold down arm rest taken from a 94 Dodge Ram.

Pretty much nothing... it fit without a hitch. Now I've got to take it out and dye the seat the color I want.

That's awesome! Mine are a bit broken down now and I'd like a little more comfort. That wide armrest would be amazing. Whether or not my 4 speed shifter will clear it is a new ball game.
