I am working on my 84 D100 truck and had a question about the wiring harness. The harness in it is a slant six lean burn harness that my dad had hacked up and converted into a electronic ignition but it is a mess and I want to get rid of it. Will any of the pre lean burn/electronic harnesses work just by plugging them into the connector on the firewall? Or would I be better off unwrapping this one removing everything except the headlights and turn signals/marker lights and rewrapping it?

I am running a 2 wire distributor that only needs power to the coil, and planning on a one wire alternator whether its gm or mopar.

unwrap

you may find that fire wall block will not have the same pins as yours and lots of bad insulation on the older wiring. unwrap yours strip out the bs. leave at least 6" of wire out of the fire wall block (just in case). it will be a lot less frustrating and you will know that you have.
