1-ton VS 1/2 ton conversion?

So, the truck is a 1-ton tank. It's heavy. It can haul/pull practically anything you hook to it.

I have another 72 1/2 ton with 8-3/4 and front discs that I was kicking the tires on swapping over. Is it worth it OR would you leave the 1-ton as-is?

I'd leave the D300 the way it is.

Probably would leave the 1-ton as-is, other than a gear swap. My '78 D-350 had a gear that started with a 4, only thing i would do different would have been one starting with a 3.....

I'm considering buying a different Jeep as I have been looking used. The one that I'm most interested in has 8-3/4 inch tires and front disc brakes. What do you think of those two features? Also, would it be worth it to change into another variation or should I just stick with my current model?
