Well to keep everyone updated on the progress of the truck i have some good news and some bad (well for me it is) the bad is however built this motor didnt know what they were doing, tore down the motor completly the other weekend to discover that the pistons were all scratch to sh@$t, after...
thank you everyone for the complomints, i to like the color but since i'll have to replace the rockers, the truck will need to be repainted and i thimk im going to change the color, the tail gate was cut and the hinges removed but it's still attached by the locking mechanisms and it rocks around...
here's my most recent project i picked up, it is a 68 d200 with d100 leafs and rearend and such, so basically it's a d100. the truck was once fixed up and restored 10 plus years ago, which really makes life easier on me, lol. the truck has a 69' 383 that has been built pretty well, BUT i was...
Well if anyone else is interested I found two different kits one from scarebird LLC and another from uglytruckling which also carrys rear disc and power steering conversions for the sweptlines
So I figured out how I'm going to do it I'm going to buy a 4.5 to 5.5 wheel adapters and get some wheel spacers for the back, the reason I want to do this is because I really want to put the dodge rims off the newer dodge trucks on (pictured below) its my vision, mopar parts all the way
Yeah I've heard that before, even though I would like to upgrade the suspension to something newer I kind of like the old straight axle. Keeping it old school!!!
Good idea I'm going to check into that maybe I'll get wild and crazy and customize the whole front end with a newer (99-03) front end, our just put the truck on a different frame, but back to all seriousness I'm going to check into those newer ram and dakotas and see if there is anything I can...
Does anyone know if there's a disc brake conversion or know of a way to convert my 68 dodge d100 2wd to disc brakes on the front, did any of the sweptline trucks come with discs? Thanks for looking and any help.
I would imagine as long as you get everything (tranny and mounts linkages, etc)from a four wheel drive truck it should work, I would try and find something relatively close to that year, but don't quote me on that. Just my two cents.
Yeah I think my best bet is to switch the rear axles to the 4.5 the only reason I wanted to switch to the 5.5 is cause I really wanted to put rims from the newer rams on my truck (i had a vision, lol) but thanks for all the help still open to any ideas if anyone has a way to change the front
All right everyone here's my question I have a 68 dodge d100 2wd with a 8 3/4 rear end with 5 on 5.5 bolt pattern, I was wondering if anyone knows how I can convert my front end from the 4.5 to the 5.5? Can I use spindles off like a 70's truck with some modifications or what? Please help, thank you.
