    2001 47RE Trans. question

I did change the fluid & filter as soon as I saw the problem, as well as replacing the radiator itself. (Over $400 when all said & done) I had a slipping problem again & have since changed the fluid & filter 3 more times since. I didn't think it would help the last time I had the slipping...

    Any interest in parts?

It looks like a service truck body, like a plumber or electrician would have on a pick-up truck frame instead of a regular pick-up bed & they are usually steel.

    Any interest in parts?

I'm thinking about it, that's for sure.

    Any interest in parts?

I hear you. I still might get this thing anyway, there are too many good parts on it, & like I said, it's been in a warehouse since 2001. (Still has the last Pa. inspection stickers on the windshield) I will check into it further for sure. The sticker in the door jamb has a build date that's...

    2001 47RE Trans. question

Yup, everything, pricewise, has gone through the roof. $36 for a 4qt jug of Valvoline ATF+4 isn't too bad, & I bought 4 filters only, from RockAuto for less than $7 each, as I have a good steel lined, re-useable pan gasket. I just don't have the room, knowledge, or time to re-build mine myself...

    2001 47RE Trans. question

I've put a couple hundred miles on my truck since I did the filter & fluid change. It shifts funny sometimes, but it pretty much did that since I've owned it & does not slip. I've been to the scrap yard a couple times since also. I will change the filter & fluid again soon & see how it goes. So...

    Any interest in parts?

I may have access to a mid to late 80s regular cab D-250 that has been in a warehouse since 2001. It has NO front sheet metal (Hood, fenders, grill, bumper etc.) but it's a V8 (not sure if it's a 318 or 360) with factory A/C & 4 speed transmission. It has an enclosed utility bed on it so no P/U...

    2001 47RE Trans. question

I did use the Seafoam in the fluid when I changed it. I had a pretty heavy load in the bed Thursday & it was working OK, so we'll see.

    2001 47RE Trans. question

I'm afraid you may be right but, I drove the truck around today just to circulate the Sea Foam additive I put in. I put about 20 or so miles on it & didn't have any slippage issues, but also had no load in the bed either. I will be pricing reman trans. I can't replace the truck for what a good...

    2001 47RE Trans. question

Well, I adjusted the bands per specs, was going to do common mods on solenoid's etc. but the solenoid pack was upgraded before I bought the truck & looks to be a nice billet aluminum housing. So, I replaced the filter & fluid with the recommended ATF+4 (The fluid that I drained out this time...

    2001 47RE Trans. question

Thats kind of what I wanted to here, so I'll do some basic checks & adjustments & see how that goes. Thanks a lot for your input.

    2001 47RE Trans. question

2001 Dodge 2500, 2wd V10. Where is the transmission control computer located on these trucks? Does anyone do a quality re-man on these if I need to go that route? Long story, but trans has been acting up, not shifting, slipping, shifting late etc. I have changed the fluid & filter 3 times so far...

    Fuel pump module

Me too, until I saw them on Rock Autos web site.

    SMFI QUESTION

I got the part # from the tank & looked it up on Mopar Parts Source. The part # has been superseded but I found it to be a 34gal. tank. Thanks again for your help. PS, I watched a few videos where the bed was jacked-up on that side to remove the pump instead of dropping the tank.

    Fuel pump module

I've heard that too, but I've also heard many more negative things about Airtex. Hit or miss? I will avoid getting an Airtex anyway. If I have to pay more for say a Delphi, I will. I see where RockAuto also has a module available from Hella. I think they used to be a good company, but that was...

    Fuel pump module

Thanks Sporty. I was thinking the same thing. I know Carter used to be good, along with some other well known brands, but the quality has been a study decline the past few years. I will go with the Delphi unit.

    Fuel pump module

I need to replace the fuel pump on my 2001 2wd Dodge 2500 with the V10. I want to replace the whole module assembly & was wondering if anyone had a preference. I can tell you now that Airtex & the like are OUT! I want a good, lasting one. RockAuto has a few to choose from, Carter, Delfi etc...

    SMFI QUESTION

Thanks 65 sporty, I will try the web site first, if I have trouble, I will be in touch. Thank you for your help, AGAIN. TED

    SMFI QUESTION

I'd rather not get involved with a dealer at all if I can help it & I figured if I have to remove the whole assembly, I might as well replace the complete module. The truck does have 140,000 miles on it, so I'll just do it all since it will be out anyway. I do plan on getting a good quality module.

    SMFI QUESTION

I just checked my fuel pressure when turning the key to the on position with a gauge. It has no fuel pressure at the test port until I cycle the key 3-4 times & even then it only gets to 10 or so PSI. When I start it, the pressure gauge only reads 30PSI when it's running & I think it should read...
