    Been gone a while- update

No, its not. But McLeod says they can take 5k rpm clutch dumps on slicks so I better start stockpiling axles until I upgrade!

    Been gone a while- update

Keeping the T56 now that I just put a $1600 clutch in it. If it becomes a problem there are upgrades that can be done. They are rated to 700 lb/ft and I am pushing the limit when on nitrous.

Not a huge problem. I had asked around on a facebook site about the truck dana's, so I know what issues I would have to correct. Keep me in mind come springtime. I am looking for an rear end out of the 2004-2006 SRT10 Rams, if I come up empty I will need a back up plan.

Just running a stock 8 3/4 with 3.91's for now.

    Been gone a while- update

My exhaust is fairly quiet at idle and cruise, so it does surprise people when they see it running 114 in the quarter. The motor is still 100% stock , so that throws people as well. The problem with my exhaust is that its under the rockers right where I imagine the frame outriggers would need...

    Been gone a while- update

I did, but you can get them made for either spring under or spring over. Yeah, the truck frames were designed to flex. Not so good for drag racing. I am tempted to cage it, but I think I would have to trash my exhaust to do it. Not too thrilled about that.

    Been gone a while- update

I just went with the traction bars for now. I want to set the GoPro up to catch the suspension action so I can see if there is a need to upgrade the shocks and springs. They definitely cured the wheelhop, but I wasnt able to get wheelspin under control before I snapped an axle. Just got the...

Truck 8 3/4 axle interchange- FYI

Just an FYI for anyone in need of axles for a truck 8 3/4" rear end. Station wagons use the same axle shafts as the trucks. Might make someones search easier...

    Been gone a while- update

Its been a while since I poked my head in here. Figured I would give an update on the truck. For those that dont know- its a '78 Warlock with a 5.7 VVT Hemi and Viper 6 speed swap. Rebuilt the suspension and lowered it this spring. Also added nitrous to it and had it dyno tuned so it wouldnt...

Speedo correction after tire size change?

Currently, my speedo reads correct with the smaller factory tire size. I want to upsize to the larger factory tire option, and want the speedo to read correctly after that. I used the google, and found that there is an electronic adjustment for my truck. No hardware to swap, just a simple...

Speedo correction after tire size change?

I just bought a '96 F150 and it needs tires badly. It has the tiny 235/75-15 on it now, but the factory upsize was a 265/75-15. I would like to go to the larger tire, but I want the speedo to read correctly and since I am a Mopar guy I do not know how the Fords adjusted for tire size. How do...

Best way to get traction at the strip with trucks?

They do make them for the trucks and from what I have seen the cost is the same as the car kits- $339 for the bars. They can also make the mono leaf to fit trucks as well. If you went the complete Caltrac route with the bars, mono leafs, and shocks you'd be around $1000. I talked with a guy at...

Best way to get traction at the strip with trucks?

Figured out the video overlay. My previous post has had the video updated. Check it out. Not sure why the gps speed was acting up. It might have been super laggy because the phone was on the dash all day and was literally about to melt.

Best way to get traction at the strip with trucks?

Also, I just picked up some spare leaf springs that I plan on adding to the spring pack to combat the spring wrap. Has anyone played around with adding springs to just the front segment? The rear segment (at least in cars) does the majority of the springing, and I would like to keep the ride...

Best way to get traction at the strip with trucks?

The snubber was set with about 3/4" clearance. The Mopar chassis book said that manual cars should have about 1/2" clearance, but the way it adjusts it has either no clearance or what I had. I recorded that run with my Torque app w/ track recorder that overlaid my rpm's on the screen. The...

    D150 weighed on scale

I had my Warlock weighed this morning and thought it might be of interest to some. A point of reference here- Dodge claimed a curb weight of 3850 for 1978. My truck, modified w/ 5.7 Hemi and Viper T56, full of fluids and 20 gallons of fuel had the following breakdown... Front axle weight =...
