    Transmission issues

Yes, tranny fluid was pretty high last time I bought it, a little over a year ago. It was $36 for a 5qt container for the ATF+4 that is used in my truck. A friend just GAVE me about 10qts of genuine Mopar ATF+4 (He works at a dealer near me) & I have 1 or 2 spare filters left I got from Rock...

    Newer truck question

Another reason you & I like the older vehicles. You're better off buying an older truck in really nice shape & spending top dollar for one of those than buying a newer one. IMHO.

    Transmission issues

Yup, your filter could be gummed up. I know ATF isn't cheap but changing it & the filter 3-4 times in a year saved me over $3500, & that was installing the trans & T/C myself.

    Transmission issues

I had a similar experience with my 2001 V-10 Dodge 2500. Changed the fluid & filter 3-4 times, after I cleaned up the shift solenoids & it was much better. It was not shifting right & slipping so bad, that I thought the trans was SHOT & it's still going strong. That oil (Transmission oil?) is...

    Newer truck question

I don't know if you can Don. It's probably hooked into something else & won't allow you to disconnect it. That wouldn't surprise me at all. One of the reasons I like older vehicles. My newest is a 2001 2500 & I can still fix most everything myself. Maybe try getting a section of retractable...

    FOR SALE 86 D-250

Yes, all inside wiring is untouched & excellent. The tab on the plastic fuse box holder piece under the steering column is still unbroken. I will take any pictures you want if you are seriously interested. I do have it wired temporarily so it will start & run.

    FOR SALE 86 D-250

Due to unfortunate circumstances, I must sell this truck ASAP. Make a REASONABLE offer, as it must go. I have a good complete grill for it, title & running condition. Please, no B.S. I need to sell this truck. My loss is your gain. You will not find a cleaner ORIGINAL condition, rust free truck...

    Clutch pedal creaking

Well, I found out that the creaking noise WAS coming from the slave cylinder. Man, when that thing got warmed up, it was loud & very annoying. I ended up replacing the whole set-up as a unit, reservoir, master cylinder & slave cylinder. For only $60 or so more than the slave cylinder, replacing...

    FOR SALE 86 D-250

You're right. I'll just keep doing little things it needs for now & not have to spend too much money on it. Someone will snap this up eventually.

Who does Models? Dodge & all

I had a real one of these but a 74 Valiant version. May have been one of the best, fun to drive cars I ever had!

    FOR SALE 86 D-250

Hard to believe that I have no bites on this. Make an offer. I need to sell this truck. Running, moving, rot free truck, with title in my name, that just needs some TLC. Reading body is still on truck & will go with it. I don't have the heart to part it out, it's that nice.

    ECM info

I'll try this. Thanks to all.

    ECM info

Thanks for the info Scoots. I'll check prices on car-part.com & see if they're better than RockAuto. They list about 5 different part #s, that's why I inquired.

    ECM info

Working on a 1995 (Last year of OBD-1) V8 Dakota w/auto trans. I need to find out what the factory ECM part # was as it has no numbers on it at all. May be a replacement ECM, I don't know but, I may need to replace it at some point & was wondering if there is a way to tell what is has in it. Any...

WANTED cruise control switch, 88 D-150

Charlie, I just got home & checked. It IS a tilt column but, I really don't want to dismantle it & sell parts off of it. Just too much hassle & it wouldn't be worth it. I will take pictures & send them to you if you want to buy the whole thing. $160 for the complete unit is a real good price &...
