It's a four in the floor, it crunches into second gear. I'll be putting it in second and the shifter will stop, then I have to push it pretty hard and it crunches and goes into second.
(75 w100 318la) as I'm going forward with building my first vehicle ever, I'm finding of course, I know nothing. My factory manual trans has a crunchy second and I'd love to replace it before putting down lots of power. I'd really love to keep it manual. Do you guys know any trans I can put it...
In the past I did burn the field positive choke manifold heater (of the same circuit) on a different wiring harness, I replaced the harness and not the regulator, it seems that has fried my regulator and then no reg fried the alternator?
This morning I went to start "the hog" (75 w100 power wagon,318,4spd) and it started but turned off because my timing and choke wasn't enough. I popped the hood to see my red wire from the alternator in the process of burning. FML! About a month ago I used a wire brush to clean the outside of...
Hey volaredon! I know I'm reaching & it's a little pushy, but at this point I have a list of parts I'm struggling to find even at my local yards. I still really need a dash wire set, and now my clear vertical turn signals are cracking to where the screws can't hold them anymore!!!
Oops! I'm sorry 🤣🤣. 75 w100 power wagon with the 318. I put a stock engine wiring harness in really easy, but I can't find a cab wiring harness! There is one rotting out it my neighborhood I'm gonna ask about today!
I'm looking for a wire set for inside of my dash. The dials don't light up when turned on, it's modded out with dead frayed wire ends, too much wire, just clapped out. I don't know what to search or can't find the wire set for the dials and such on the inside of the dash. If you know where to...
Just wrapped up a 4 barrel swap and and torn between the two. Exhaust is easier cus no wiring and cheaper, but my coil pack and distributor are factory, could probably use a refresh of course.
They do so they must have changed the whole front end, the body under the grill doesn't even have holes where the indicators were, and I the original forest service yellow paint is all on the inside, it's really confusing.
As much as I want to just do the harness if the fusible link crap is a fire hazard im gonna replace it. Lastly how do I prevent the choke heater wire from getting hot as it did? Put the choke heater in place, put the wire to it and remove the steel wire to the choke arm so the wire isn't open...
So am I looking at just a wiring harness or harness + rebuilding the fuses like you? I was really hoping just a harness would do as this truck has been down a while and I want it back desperately.
You are a legend! Thank you so much for this valuable advice. I believe my last question is, my truck is a weird 75-77 combo model, is there a period of years I can buy a wiring harness for and be compatible?
I just finished up my four barrel carb swap, I'm redoing it unfortunately to fix a manifold vac leak. I had the coil pack grounded to the intake, and I forgot to connect the temp sending wire. But the other day I went to move it, it was under powered due to the leak, but it shot a big plume of...
Thank you, between the notches on the top of my reluctor indicated wishing way the rotor faces and spins. This is an amazing post. Thank you so much! But what is "the D"? The D shaped clamp that holds it then mark the body at the tower set for cyl 1?
I have a point type distributor, can you please elaborate more on the points barely opening part? Also, does it matter which "nipple" of the circular collar is pointed at the doodad(sorry) I have one with a notch on either side.
