Bought my 2000 R/T CC with 31,000 on it.
Now has 146,000.
Radiator
Water pump (x2)
Idler pulley (x3)
Lock solenoid (x4)
Head front freeze plugs
A/C compressor (just clutch, but cheaper to replace comp)
LF hub bearing
MAF and TPS sensors
Distributor pickup plate
Those are the only repairs.
Parting 1986 Dodge D150 slant 6 Central FL
Slant six, 833 O/D.
I bought the truck for the transmission setup and the hood, so I'm keeping those.
Also the mirrors, and some front brake stuff if it fits my 1980.
If I can't find clean 72-80 fenders and doors I might keep them too, but right now...
No disrespect, but I see several generalizations about the fit of aftermarket parts, and your statement about the body line change from 72-80 to 81 and up.
Am I missing a post where someone said they actually bought and or used the Sherman fenders?
My preference would be to use the correct...
I have a 73-74 Charger quarter patch that has both Sherman and Goodmark stickers on it.
Interestingly, I passed a mid 80's truck just yesterday, that had black (possibly e-coat) 72-80 style fenders on it.
They looked and fit really good.
Just film, or does the Macho Power Wagon from Simon&Simon count?
Of course there's Squad 51 (both versions) from Emergency.
Aren't there 64-ish crew cab step sides (a fleet of them) in Dr. Strangelove (the B52 launch scene).
Vans? How about the ambulance from Mother, Jugs and Speed...
Just an FYI-
I just bought an '86 long bed 225 833 o/d truck to part out.
Cab is shot above roof, and instrument cluster is missing.
Dent in pas side bed.
Small dent in pass fender dogleg.
PO claims motor was rebuilt, but it has a points distributor and is not currently running but does...
I did end up finding a 1992 pump for free, and changed the fitting out.
Got it all back together pretty smoothly.
Then the battery failed.
Then the starter failed.
