    74 Power Wagon W-150 in a junkyard....what should I grab from it?

Uhh, yeah. It isn't a matter of money, it is the regulations of the state.

    74 Power Wagon W-150 in a junkyard....what should I grab from it?

Once a vehicle reaches the yard, it cannot be bought whole. One could buy a frame, a cab, the bed, etc but no complete vehicles once they are set in the yard for parts.

    74 Power Wagon W-150 in a junkyard....what should I grab from it?

The interior is either stripped or nothing worth taking. The 360 is mostly complete, the transmission-drive shafts-axles-hubs-brakes are intact. Fenders and hood are there, small rust spots at bottom of fenders. Grille and front bumper are missing. Doors have small dents.

    74 Power Wagon W-150 in a junkyard....what should I grab from it?

My truck used to be a 4 speed, I converted to the automatic a few years back. The transmission would sell here but after the fees, it would leave much profit. I don't need another 360, if I buy another LA series engine it will be a Roller cam or Magnum.

    74 Power Wagon W-150 in a junkyard....what should I grab from it?

I have a 75 W-200 Power wagon, 440-727 with the full time transfer case. It has a Dana 44 up front, disc brakes and a Dana 60 out back on a single rear wheel each side. This W-150 in the yard is a short bed but is also a 4 speed with a 360. The interior is not good. It has the 5 lug, 4 1/2" bolt...

I think that you mean scraPPing, not scraping. You could save the axle and harvest the gears and differential out of it.

Are you sure it is not a "Spicer" and not a Spiker? I know that Dana and Spicer had a business partnership for awhile.

    Dodge truck rear axles

Thank you, Mark. I am pretty sure that I've seen 8 lug 9 1/4" axles in the lighter duty 3/4 tons prior to the changeover in 1994. I have no pictures or legitimate proof, I just recall seeing them when I was looking for parts for my 74 Camper 9000. That truck was a heavy duty rig. It had a dana...

Maybe the dude was posting from a phone and didn't look his post over before submitting? I make the majority of my errors when doing that. Tiny screen, tiny buttons and 59 year old eyes! When I go back and see my spelling errors, I immediately correct them.

Put a tape measure on the ring gear if you're willing to disassemble the axle!

    Dodge truck rear axles

There are references to an 8 3/8" axle in the factory service manuals. They are the same as the 8 1/4" axle but for some reason, they called them 8 3/8" in the trucks. I've still never seen one of them behind a 440.

    Dodge truck rear axles

I'm a bit curious about the rear axles used in Dodge trucks from say....1970 until the early 90s. Out here in California, I've owned several of these as well as being a junkyard crawler for years. It has been my experience that the 9 1/4" rear axle has been the most common unit used in the 1/2...
